“As you know, the greatest investment we make is in our children and their education. Pimentel Academic Services is among the finest places to make that investment in our children’s future. We were referred to Bob Pimentel through the head of counseling at Notre Dame Prep, Kristen Sullivan. Ms. Sullivan gave them her highest recommendation. This was well founded and our son, Jacob benefited greatly from his instruction here.
They offer numerous services and all exceeded all our expectations. Jacob benefited from tutoring to improve his study and organization skills. Jacob participated in one on one tutoring for the SAT. This prepared him well to succeed on this test and his score gained him admission to the out of State college of his choice. Jacob also participated in writing tutoring with Pimentel Academic Services and wrote his college essays under their guidance.
Importantly, Jacob highly respects Mr. Pimentel and benefited from his mentoring and coaching. He has a unique way of connecting with his students and always goes the extra mile to help them.
We give our highest endorsement to Pimentel Academics, Bob and his entire staff. Please feel free to contact us if we can provide any information. We would encourage anyone to use the services offered here.” -
BENJAMIN
I began one-on-one tutoring with Bob Pimentel during my junior year in 2022 to prepare for the ACT and SAT. Working with Bob helped me learn the tests and considerably improve my composite ACT score, which I believe contributed to receiving merit scholarships from several universities. During my senior year, I worked with Matthew Pimentel on my Common App essay and several school-specific college application essays. Matthew was instrumental in helping me craft essays that showed schools my personality and skills. More recently, I worked with Fred Campisano for help with AP Physics 2.
I will graduate from Brophy College Preparatory in May 2024 and was honored as a Distinguished Student at Brophy in December 2023. I was accepted to every university that I heard back from before being accepted Early Decision 1 at Tulane University, where I plan to major in Engineering Physics and Minor in Mechanical Engineering.

RYAN
I started going to Pimentel freshman year of high school and they helped me with understanding material, studying, and ultimately the college admissions process. When it came time for the SAT, Matthew and Bob helped me study, and ultimately helped me increase my score by almost 300 points. When it came time to choose a school, I was choosing between schools like Cornell, Dartmouth, and Cal Poly. In the end I chose to study economics at Cornell University! I am forever grateful for Pimentel because I wouldn't be here without them!

“Our son Waleed required help in writing his college essays in addition to needing a slightly higher score on his SAT. Well, we are happy to disclose that the lovely Pimentel family and their caring staff delivered on their promise with the necessary attentive service. Our son got into his #1 choice in the University of Michigan, where he will pursue his dream of becoming a sports agent. We feel grateful for having people like PAS in our corner and highly recommend their services to everyone.”

“Pimentel Academic Services provides the best SAT prep around! Our daughter, Hannah, had already taken the SAT three times. She received exactly the same score on her second and third tests. Needing to raise her score just a few points to reach the level to be considered for a merit scholarship out of state, tutoring through Pimentel Academic Services was going to be Hannah’s final hope and attempt to raise her score. Bob and Jack did not disappoint! The strategies that Hannah gained increased her SAT score from a 1300 to a 1420! Our family is absolutely thrilled and we are grateful to Pimentel Academic Services for making this happen!!”

“I’ve used Pimentel Academic Services for PSAT and SAT test prep and Bob is one of the best teacher I’ve ever had. In our first meeting, he took the time to get to know me, my interests and strengths. He also explained the college entrance and testing process so that my parents and I understood some of the finer details and what to expect. He made the study group interesting, helped us understand how to interpret the test questions and provided us strategies in taking the test. When I took the tests, I had seen enough questions to feel completely comfortable and prepared. I’m incredibly happy with my test results and know it will provide me with many college opportunities. Bob is a great teacher and I’d recommend him and his team to other students.”

“We could not be more pleased with our experiences with Bob Pimentel and his excellent staff. Both of our children took AP and ACT/SAT preparation classes at Pimentel Academic Services. Utilizing the Pimentel method, they were able to increase their test scores significantly in all areas, and conquer their fears of taking standardized tests by learning to critically read and analyze test questions. As a result, they were admitted and obtained scholarships to many fine universities and colleges. We attribute much of their success to the insight and training they received from Bob Pimentel and others at Pimentel Academic Services. They have applied the skills and methodology taught by Pimentel Academic Services to every facet of their academic careers, and we believe that these skills will be used daily for the rest of their lives.”

“We have been attending Pimentel Academic Services for over two years now and have had a stellar experience. We have triplets that have just wrapped up their SAT and ACT testing. As many people know, college preparation can be stressful for a family and our situation is multiplied by three. Bob Pimentel and his staff are knowledgeable, supportive and helped us navigate through the testing process. During this time Bob worked with each of our children to identify their strengths and weaknesses with regards to the SAT and ACT and we watched our children improve their test scores and confidence. We also appreciated Bob’s insight into the college application process and his commitment to the students. Pimentel Academic Services have made a positive difference for our college process.”

“Mr. Pimentel and Pimentel Academic Services not only helped our son get into the University of Southern California, but also raised our son’s spirits and his self-esteem by surrounding him with unconditional love which changed his whole outlook.
Without Pimentel Academic Services, our son’s SAT and ACT scores would have been horrendous, but after working with them, he received a perfect score on his critical reading and raised all other scores.
We had tried many different types of tutoring because our son has ADD. Most of the other tutoring companies did not realize his intelligence, but it was the first thing Bob and Matthew observed and confirmed with me. Bob was able to identify our son’s intelligence within 3 minutes of getting to know each other.
We are so very, very grateful to Pimentel Academic Services for making it possible for our son to not only succeed beyond his own expectations, but also feel and find his self-value.
There is no other tutoring service that compares. We had been to over 20 companies before finding the Pimentel Family and their services.
Yep, Our Son Goes To USC... Whoohoo! Thanks, Bob and Matthew!!!!” -

“Pimentel Academic Services have been a blessing for our children in many ways. We have known Bob when he used to be with Merck even before he started the Pimentel Services. We have been have been most impressed with his professional enthusiasm, as well as the emphasis he places on maintaining high educational standards based on exceptional morale and ethical principles. When he told us this was his dream to start a new educational program for high school children, we knew he would be highly successful in his endeavor mainly because of his true passion to teach, educate and make the students the best they can be. Both our children went to Bob to get tutoring not just for SAT, but to get additional exposure as a life coach in many ways. Bob is principled, complimentary, value driven with a positive attitude that helped our children gain tremendous confidence. He has exceptional talent, and his team brings additional teaching skills to enhance the student’s knowledge base. Bob is indeed compassionate, competent and scholarly with an extraordinary sense of temperance and equanimity. This has been very important for our children’s growth overall. We endorse and recommend Pimentel Academic Services with a great deal of confidence and enthusiasm.”

EMMA
I used Pimentel Academic Services for my ACT prep and Bob is an amazing tutor. The first time we met he talked to me about my college goals and the score I was hoping to achieve. He explained the material in brand new ways making it interesting and very easy to understand. He not only taught me how to understand the questions but also how to break them down and solve them. The ACT was so similar to the questions I had been doing with Bob that I felt very confident taking the test. Thanks to Bob, I will be attending my dream university, the University of Wisconsin in the fall of 2019. I would recommend him to anyone looking to improve their test scores.

We are proud of Sophie and thrilled to have been part of her exciting college admissions process.

“Words cannot express the gratitude that my son, Ryan, and our family have for Bob Pimentel and his tutoring staff at Pimentel Academic Services. Ryan had applied to Notre Dame Preparatory and needed some assistance in preparing for the HSPT. He had been attending another prep school since fifth grade. Our first impression when we met Bob was that he had compassion and commitment that he institutes for all his students. Ryan immediately bonded with Bob and others at Pimentel. Ryan has a love for learning, and we found that Pimentel Academic Services was an educational service that provided an extreme level of learning. He looked forward to his tutoring sessions where he learned the proper techniques to preparing for these tests. At times, our son does get test anxiety, and when he took his HSPT test at Notre Dame, there were some areas in which he did not test well. When we spoke with Bob, he believed, as we did, that Ryan has the potential and commitment it takes to attend Notre Dame. No one has ever believed in my son as much as Bob did. Bob spoke with Notre Dame recommending him, and we had Ryan re-tested at Pimentel. His scores were extremely higher. One explanation could have been mis-bubbling of the answers. When we received the phone call from Notre Dame that Ryan was accepted, we knew that because of Ryan’s hard work, test preparation, and the compassion and commitment that Bob Pimentel had for Ryan was astounding. Ryan continues to attend Pimentel Academic Services where he is continuing to achieve his goals. We are extremely grateful for Bob Pimentel, and he has become a part of our family. We highly recommend Pimentel Academic Services for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to education.”

I have received invitations to attend the University of San Diego, Santa Clara University, Loyola Marymount University, Gonzaga University, University of Arizona, Arizona State University, Saint Joseph’s University, and Baylor University. “In his junior high and early high school years at Brophy, our son Brendan never seemed to do well on tests — be they standardized or those taken at school. He worked hard, did his homework, and participated in class, but his test and quiz scores did not reflect that hard work. Since tests, for better or worse, are how a kid’s academic progress is objectively measured, we as Brendan’s parents were concerned. During his freshman year, we — and Brendan — decided to do something about it and started working with Pimentel Academic Services.
Four years later, Brendan has been accepted early decision to Amherst College in Massachusetts. It helped that he was a recruited athlete; it also helped that he worked throughout his high school years with Bob Pimentel and his excellent staff.
From planning how to approach a subject at the beginning of the school year, to helping with homework and other issues as the need arose, to several intense sessions the week of final exams, Brendan spent many hours at Pimentel Academic Services. He also took a summer course with Bob on the college entrance exams. Bob also took the time to discuss Brendan’s progress with us whenever we asked, and he also took the extra step of writing letters on Brendan’s behalf.
Bob and his staff were very knowledgeable and Brendan was comfortable from the start. Brendan told us that they ‘took complicated things and made them seem easy,’ they ‘talked in a way that made you understand,’ and, perhaps most important, they were ‘easy to connect with.’ We as Brendan’s parents saw his confidence grow and his test scores improve.
We heartily recommend Pimentel Academic Services. Not only are they very good at what they do, but they always were friendly and accommodating. Even when we asked at the ‘last minute’ during their busy final exam week, they always found a way to give Brendan the help that he needed. And that help sure paid off. ” -

In swimming, the recruiting process largely begins in one’s junior year. I knew that I wanted to go to an academic school with a D1 swim team, so I focused mostly on the Ivy League schools and schools such as USC and Duke. I narrowed down my choices to Harvard, Brown, and Columbia by the beginning of my senior year. I ultimately chose Columbia University in NYC because I fell in love with the school on my recruiting trip this fall! I felt that the opportunities for internships and careers available in NYC are unparalleled, and I loved the coaches, the team and the curriculum. I am really looking forward to being a part of the Columbia women’s swim and dive team as well as being a part of the class of 2023!

“Our family has truly been blessed to find Pimentel Academic Services three years ago. We stumbled upon Bob Pimentel when we were seeking college test prep assistance for our oldest son. Nick bonded with Bob and found him very helpful in learning the proper techniques to better navigate and understand taking these tests. His scores positively reflected his hard work with Bob’s guidance.
We have also taken advantage of Pimentel’s tutoring services when Nick missed school due to an injury. They remained open during the Christmas break which allowed Nick to make up his missed work and start his second semester on schedule.
Nick’s positive experience led us to enroll our three other children at Pimentel Academic Services. They are taking advantage of the tutoring, ACT/SAT test prep, as well as HSPT test prep classes offered there. They all find Bob’s knowledge invaluable. Despite the distance, our children all gladly attend their sessions.
Bob and his entire staff at Pimentel Academic Services have always been professional, caring, and most importantly effective in assisting our children with their various needs. We whole heartedly recommend them without hesitation.” -

“Pimentel Academic Services has been a tremendous resource for our family. Bob and Megan have built strong relationships with both our son and our daughter which have helped build their confidence in approaching their academic challenges. They were instrumental in assisting our son with time management, his AP English classes and preparing for the SAT. We saw measurable and real-time results. Thanks to their encouragement, he is now a freshman student-athlete at Regis University and he still looks to Pimentel for assistance. We have seen huge growth in our 8th grade daughter. Megan has been diligent about helping her with all aspects of her studying. From time management to test-taking strategies, Megan offers her support for all of her classes and holds her accountable for her grades. We are extremely grateful for how much Pimentel Academic Services cares about our kids!”

NATALIE
Natalie Gotsis has been a fixture in the Pimentel offices since the 5th grade. Megan has become her most trusted mentor and advisor and has tutored her in all subject matters as well as assisted her with setting goals and guiding her with time management and organizational skills. As a result, Natalie has achieved excellent grades, communication skills, self-advocacy, and great relationships with her teachers. Natalie has also worked with Matthew in preparing for the ACT and submitting all her college applications. She was awarded scholarships at all the universities she applied to and will be attending Northern Arizona University in the fall of 2019 on the Lumberjack scholarship hoping to earn a degree in Business Marketing. Natalie loves the family atmosphere and Megan’s dog, Frank. Pimentel is incredible with communicating with parents in real time and works hard to ensure all concerns are addressed. We are very proud of Natalie and we are very grateful for Megan.

“Bob Pimentel coached my eighth grade son into getting a phenomenal score on the SSAT which helped him gain admission to The Lawrenceville School, one of the top boarding schools in the country. My son looked forward to his tutoring sessions with Bob and prepared for them with an enthusiasm that I had not seen before. Bob sparked an academic fire in my son and we are grateful to him. I have known Bob for many years. He is passionate about education and is creative in his approach to getting teenagers excited about learning. He is a person of high integrity, and we plan on having our son study with him for the SAT exam. I recommend Pimentel Academic Services without reservation.”

NOAH
Noah Gotsis started his experience with Bob in 2011 with tutoring in math. He then went on to work with Bob in preparing for his SAT. Megan became Noah’s weekly tutor in English and Spanish. To this day, he says his college and MBA studies have been shaped by Megan’s assistance and perspective in writing and reading. He was recruited to play baseball at 9 universities and recently graduated from Regis University in Denver, CO, earning student-athlete academic honors. Pitching all four years and working hard on his studies was possible due to the motivation and skills sets provided by both Bob and Megan. He will complete his MBA in September of 2019.

“The staff at Pimentel Academic have been a great support to our family. Our son was attending Brophy as an international student and did not have the support of living with his family. Pimentel took an active interest in him, far beyond just the provision of services, like the time they provided Aiden a textbook at 10 p.m. or sent him home with pizza after a late night . They took the opportunity to get to know him and find the staff members that best fit his needs while working hard to accommodate his sports schedule. We have used Pimentel for support in honors and advanced placement math, chemistry, and ACT prep, but they are excellent in all subjects as we found out during final exams. They were most helpful in just channeling all that hard work into great results! We cannot say enough about how well Pimentel has treated our family and we will take every opportunity to recommend them.”

WALKER
My time with Pimentel Academic Services led me to being accepted to my dream school: The University of Michigan. Although The University of Michigan accepted me, I was also accepted to all of the schools to which I applied, and I received multiple scholarships with the acceptances. The amount of time and effort the Pimentel tutors devoted to helping me achieve my dream really showed how much they cared. With my learning disabilities, it was not likely that I would get in on my grades alone because I also needed a great Standardized test score, which I achieved as a result of working with the Pimentel tutors. Helping students achieve their academic goals is their main priority. I would highly recommend them for any kind of academic subject tutoring for anyone looking to succeed in the classroom and on standardized tests. I know that all of my admissions to the many colleges on my wish list were a direct result of the dedication and care of the entire Pimentel Academic Team.

I worked with Bob for my ACT prep. I started the journey with a 23 on my first practice test, and when it was time to take the official ACT, I finished with a 30. Bob is super helpful and has all the tips and tricks to make anyone successful! He has a great personality and he makes the class enjoyable. I also went to Bob for additional assistance in my AP English Language and Composition course, and thanks to him I was able to obtain a 3. I applied and was accepted to Penn State and ASU Barrett. For Fall 2019, I decided to attend ASU Barrett in Downtown Phoenix to study Sports Journalism and Law. I would recommend Bob and PAS to anyone in need of improvement in their scores!

“We have three boys who have either attended or are currently attending Brophy College Preparatory. All three boys have taken classes and been tutored by Bob for standardized testing and the Brophy admissions exam. All three boys have proven to improve their scores, sometimes dramatically, under the guidance of Pimentel Academic Services. Not only does Bob take the time to help students prepare for the exam with proven test taking strategies, he takes the time to provide real life advice on how to best maximize your efforts and time. His instinct in this regard has been invaluable. I have and will continue to recommend Pimentel Academic Services to others.”

EMILY
Pimentel Academic Services previously worked with Emily on her college entrance exams. More recently, we helped Emily prepare for the LSAT. This past May, Emily graduated with honors from Grinnell College, a liberal arts school in Iowa, where she was a Religious Studies major and Global Development concentrator. Upon graduation, she received the Howard R. Burkle award in her major. During college, she played on the softball team (and was a captain, 4 year starter, and academic All-American) and was a Grinnell Advocate (a confidential Title IX resource for students). We are happy to announce that she will be attending Boston College Law School in the fall, where she plans to study international law/human rights. Schools to which she was admitted include: Boston College, Fordham University, Boston University, ASU. She was also waitlisted at Columbia and NYU.

Working with Bob for LSAT prep at Pimentel Academic Services was a true pleasure and privilege. He is so passionate about teaching, and it shows. He genuinely cares about you and your endeavors and will go the extra mile to ensure you’re prepared for whatever it is that you are studying for. Bob makes the learning experience fun and engaging. Every session was a joy and I truly miss working with him and the process as I prepared for the LSAT. He would always respond to my questions outside of the study sessions when I reached out to him and would provide detailed responses. I have never met a teacher like him that breaks down material so well and makes it so simple that anyone can understand. He recognizes that teaching is not a one size fits all approach and is magnificent at teaching to the specific needs of his students. He instilled confidence in me when I struggled with the learning and always believed in me. His patience, encouragement, and belief in me were all reasons why I believe my LSAT score significantly increased after struggling the first time. I am forever grateful for my learning at Pimentel Academic Services and would not be on my way to Marquette University Law School with a yearly scholarship of $27,000 if it weren’t for Bob and the Pimentel team.

“Our son Conor decided he wanted to apply to Exeter in the eighth grade. We applied late, and Conor took the SSAT with very little preparation due to our inability to find a tutor that had more than superficial knowledge of the test. Conor was wait-listed for Exeter but ultimately never moved up to admission. The following year we decided to make a determined effort in our bid for admission to five elite prep schools.
The first step was test preparation, and luckily we were referred to Bob Pimentel. He went through a thorough assessment of Conor’s readiness for the test. Conor was always upbeat about his sessions with Bob, and there was never a complaint about his approach or the workload. This was because of the manner in which the material was presented. Conor would always comment that, “Bob taught me this strategy or concept today. No one ever taught me this before.” The academic aspect of testing was not presented in isolation. Mr Pimentel also went over the all-important mental preparation. He went over the testing mindset, how to study, and more importantly how to relax and clear your head, so you can be more effective and rested for testing day.
Conor took the SSAT last December. He had applications in at Exeter, Choate, Taft, Hotchkiss, and Lawrenceville. We waited anxiously for March 10 when admissions decisions were sent out. I promised Conor that this was his deal, and he would see the results first. He called me at work for the first acceptance at Exeter. Then throughout the day one by one the results came in. The final tally was accepted at Exeter, Choate, Taft, Hotchkiss and Lawrenceville.
Conor’s first call was to Bob Pimentel to thank him. My wife and I owe a debt of gratitude for the time and effort he put into Conor’s total test preparation.” -

I've been using Pimentel Academic Services since my freshman year of high school, and I can't recommend it enough! Matthew has been absolutely amazing, and I can’t recommend him or the Pimentel team enough! His guidance and teaching style really helped me improve in my more challenging subjects like English and Spanish. He often proofread my essays, suggested ideas, and helped me tackle those oh-so-scary research projects. Matthew gave me the confidence to push through challenging material. To be honest, I don’t think I would have done so well in high school if it weren’t for the assistance of the amazing Pimentel team.
When it came time for the ACT, both Matthew and Bob went above and beyond to ensure I was fully prepared. Their personalized approach made all the difference, and I saw major improvements in my scores. Thanks to them, I have more options for college than I ever thought I’d have. I am interested in pursuing a career in nursing, but I was worried that I would not get into these competitive programs. With the help of Pimentel, I got into schools that I’m very excited about, like the University of Tennessee Knoxville and Pepperdine. I was also awarded scholarships to ASU, the College of Charleston, and the University of Missouri.
When I began the college application process, I was overwhelmed with everything I had to do. Thanks to their support, I felt ready and confident every step of the way. This tutoring service truly set me up for success, and I’m so grateful for everything Pimentel Academic Services has done!

I have been working with Pimentel Academic Services since 2014 during my Junior year at Pinnacle High School. I began studying with the ever-patient Bob, who diligently guided my SAT prep and helped me eventually land a place at Boston College in the fall of 2016. At BC, I majored in Economics and minored in Philosophy. As my four years flew by, I tried not only to be “a man for others” (BC’s motto) but also to chart a course for my professional career. In 2020, I graduated and accepted a job in consulting. Before starting, though, I spent several months working with Bob to prepare for the GRE, suspecting that pursuing an MBA might be in my future. Bob once again helped to lift my scores dramatically, allowing me to surpass my targets. After a few years in consulting, I felt it was time to dust off my old GRE scores and begin applying to business school programs. I enlisted Matthew's help brainstorming strategies for tackling the MBA application essays. With Matthew helping me narrow in on my goals, passions, and ideas, I could draft essays with which I was truly proud to apply. Those essays, partnered with my GRE scores, have won me acceptances from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and Booth Business School at the University of Chicago— two of my top choices and the top MBA programs in the country! I am forever grateful for the expertise, thoughtfulness, and compassion shown to me by Pimentel Academic Services and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Without their help, I surely would not be in the position I am today of deciding between two excellent schools for my MBA!

I began using Pimentel academic services to study for the HSPT and then for the ACT. I worked directly with Bob Pimentel and this tutoring helped me get into Pepperdine University. During my time at Pepperdine, I used the services at Pimentel for Spanish tutoring and was lucky enough to be helped by Matthew Pimentel, a phenomenal Spanish speaker! In studying for the LSAT, I reached back out to Pimentel academic services and began getting tutored for the LSAT. I worked with Bob and I truly believe that those few weeks of tutoring helped me in reaching my goal score. Bob Pimentel trained me to focus on the language in the questions and once I began to follow his method, my score increased! I was just accepted at Harvard Law School and could not be more thankful for all of the tutors at Pimentel!

I began working with Pimentel Academic Services in the summer before my sophomore year at Notre Dame Preparatory in 2022. I initially studied with Bob, who introduced me to key strategies for mastering the SAT. During my junior year, I switched to online school to focus on competing and traveling for tennis, and I started working with Matthew on my AP Government and AP Language courses. Matthew played a crucial role in my success in these classes, providing critical guidance and support. I also worked with Adi on Chemistry and Algebra 2, and his skills really helped me grasp key concepts and improve my grades.
In my senior year, I returned to Notre Dame Preparatory and worked with Matthew again on my Common Application essays. His insight was invaluable in helping me write essays that displayed my skills, experiences, and future goals. More recently, I've been working with Erin on AP Biology. Her help has been crucial in helping me understand the complex material.
I will graduate from Notre Dame Preparatory in the spring of 2025 and have been recruited to play tennis at the University of Chicago, where I am excited to attend this fall. I am incredibly grateful for the support and guidance from Pimentel Academic Services throughout my academic journey. I truly believe I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible team at Pimentel!

I had a lifelong goal of attending a service academy. After receiving a 27 on my ACT, I knew I needed to do better. After about five weeks of private one-on-one online tutoring with Bob through Pimentel Academic Services, I was able to bring up my score 4 points and ended with a 31 on my ACT. I was accepted to the United States Coast Guard Academy, the United states Air Force Academy, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy. I would recommend Pimentel Academic Services to anyone who wishes to improve their ACT score. My lifelong goal is now becoming a reality, as I will attend the United States Coast Guard Academy this summer! Thank you, Bob!

I began working with Bob at Pimentel during my junior year of high school to prepare for the ACT. I had tried other test prep programs before, but nothing really worked for me—until a friend recommended Bob. From our very first session, I knew it would be different.
I had always thought of myself as a “bad test taker,” but that mindset shifted almost immediately. After just a few weeks of meeting consistently, I saw major improvements—not just in my test scores, but in how I began thinking. My vocabulary expanded, my math got quicker, and I found myself more sharp in school overall. It didn’t just help my ACT—it made me a better student.
What kept me coming back, and prevented me from burning out, was Bob himself. He never made me feel limited by my learning differences. He encouraged me, motivated me, and made the process both enjoyable and manageable.
Bob didn’t just teach me how to take a test. He taught me discipline, work ethic, and how to think critically. And it showed, I went from scoring in the 68th percentile on my first ACT to eventually hitting the 99th percentile in Arizona and 97th nationally.
So, when it came time for college applications, both Bob and Matthew helped me tremendously. We started over the summer before senior year, which helped me stay ahead of the curve while taking a full senior year course load, including AP Calc, Python, and Chemistry 2. That’s also when I started working with Edgar—who I honestly wish I had met sooner. He’s one of the smartest people I’ve ever worked with, but also just understands how to teach and communicate in a way that is easy to understand.
This past year I was awarded the Presidential Scholarship (up to $100K in merit aid), received a full-ride offer to ASU, and was ultimately accepted to the University of Michigan Ross School of Business—one of the top three business schools in the country— where I’ll be attending next year.
Looking ahead, I’m planning to keep working with Pimental remotely throughout college—and definitely when it’s time to take my LSAT.
I’m so thankful for everything Pimentel has done—not just academically, but also for the way they helped shaped me into the student, and person, I am today!
